Hobby Lobby Transportation is looking for a Mechanic - Co-Manager Shop Instructor to lead and develop a team of mechanics and daily operations of the shop. 

The Co-Manager will also oversee the repairs and maintenance of the company fleet owned trucks and trailers plus vendor supplied equipment compliance to DOT regulations. Maintain proper staffing levels of maintenance personnel assigned to the Oklahoma City, OK shop.  Ensure that the Mechanical facility is properly and safely maintained and consistent with the Company's overall standards.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work in tandem with Oklahoma City managers to help prioritize equipment to be serviced in HL shop or with a local vendor.
  • Authorize all significant repairs to company equipment and tire changes.  Authorization should be given only after consulting with maintenance personnel and providing support for the requested service which may include visual verification of repairs.
  • Assure all work orders assigned to maintenance vendors are completed in a timely manner in TMW software.
  • Review and close work orders to be sure the coding of both labor and parts is properly segregated between reason for repair codes and is also inclusive of all parts charged to complete the repair or service.
  • Determine the best method of repair – using an outside facility or repairing equipment in-house.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside repair vendors in local areas with the purpose of developing greatest value when using outside repair vendors.
  • Develop mechanics by assigning responsibilities and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback
  • Determine proper staffing level and workload to meet shop performance goals.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Carries out duties assigned by the VP of Transportation and area manager as required
  • Manage the Mechanical Shop Training Program
  • Responsible for daily training both new and current mechanics
  • Manage the PM Program by scheduling, training and inspecting to ensure that all the work has been completed 


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:
  • High School Education or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience as a maintenance manager in the transportation industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
