We are seeking a Division Director of Laboratory Services like you to join our

As the Division Director of Laboratory, you will:

  • Hire, lead and support direct reports to coordinate activities of central and hospital based laboratories to achieve Division and IRL business objectives including efficiency, quality, regulatory, fiscal, operational, technical, and growth.

  • Serve as the on-site administrator for the central laboratory facility. Facilitates operational needs of central laboratory operations through collaboration with Regional Microbiology and Histology Directors.

  • Meet regularly with key stake holders to ensure effective inter-departmental interfaces are established, maintained and enhanced.

  • Ensure involvement of direct reports in the preparation of and management to department budgets and educates them in the importance of the budget, forecasting and planning process. Advises and makes recommendations to the IRL and Division leadership concerning budgeting, cost and financial matters.

  • Develop strategic plan for business unit and participates in strategic planning process for broader organization.

  • Analyze and evaluate detailed expense trends in collaboration with the controller and CFO. Takes appropriate and timely corrective action to address variances.

  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams at the corporate, division and facility level to ensure key quality and operational performance is in alignment with organizational priorities.

  • Assess facility compliance with operational regulatory requirements and works with laboratory directors to prepare for inspections as needed.

  • Assist in the development and sustainment of charge master and dictionary standardization to maximize revenue capture and reduce billing errors.

  • Assist laboratory directors in optimizing laboratory workflows and operational efficiencies.

  • Provides leadership for disaster preparedness for laboratory operations.


You Should Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree; Graduate Degree is helpful
  • 5+ years' director level experience in an integrated laboratory or health system setting
  • Multi-site and centralized laboratory management experience is beneficial
  • A State of Florida Supervisor's license or the ability to obtain during interview process
  • Minimum 3 licensures in following specialty areas, licensure in 5 areas is beneficial:
    • Blood Bank/Immunohematology
    • Chemistry
    • Hematology
    • Histology
    • Microbiology
    • Serology/Immunology
