Job Summary

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) & Quality Management Systems (QMS) Specialist is responsible for supporting site-level environmental, health, and safety programs, while also providing administrative and technical support for quality documentation and systems. This role ensures compliance with environmental and safety standards and supports the accurate formatting, control, and release of quality procedures, forms, and instructions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Daily activities focused on Environmental Protection and Employee Safety
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Quality (AS9100 / ISO 9001) and Environmental (ISO 14001) Management Systems
  • Provide ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits and assisting with implementation of root cause corrective action
  • Prepare Safety Data Sheet (SDS), master labels and other documentation as needed
  • Aid management with safety and regulatory audits
  • Coordinate the hazardous waste removal and handling procedures
  • Assist in the administration with customer inquiries on shipping, handling, and disposal of chemicals
  • Assist in generating literature for orders, SDS, etc.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Support implementation of an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure the stewardship of DRS assets
  • Respond to problems and issues in a tactful and expedient manner
  • Support facilities inspections and reporting requirements
  • Collect data and generates reports and metrics
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in EHS, science or related field preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills are mandatory
  • Must have excellent PC-based computer skills

U.S. Citizenship required. 

 

The expected pay scale for this position is $73,960.00/year - $105,761/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
