The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

Perform moderately complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations. May prepare complicated plans, conduct support studies, and provide analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations. May assign work to drafters and/or technicians and provide guidance to lower-level engineers. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform moderately complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations. May prepare complicated plans, conduct support studies, and provide analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations. May assign work to drafters and/or technicians and provide guidance to lower-level engineers. 
  • Apply basic engineering principles to perform routine design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation in support of 
  • manufacturing operations: 
    • Manufacturing routes and work instructions for production
    • Identify and procure tools, materials and fixturing for support of production
    • Repair and maintenance of production equipment
  • Support 6s activities and Continuous Process Improvement
  • Provide written reports and support IPT meetings
  • Determine root cause and corrective actions for assembly issues
  • Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawing and or supporting documentation
  • Work closely with Assemblers, Supervisors, Quality and Engineering
  • Support of proposal efforts and provide production estimates
  • Generation of assembly deviations of product assembly, red lining of documentation and engineering change requests “ECOs” 
  • Only general guidance is needed on routine work; instructions on new assignments as needed
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field with 5+ years applicable engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)
  • Must be proficient in the assembly of complex mechanical builds utilizing drawing, routes, and work instructions
