Job Summary Job Responsibilities

MFG Floor Leadership: smooth and efficient management of workflows and staff”
•    Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision.
•    Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
•    Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
•    Organizational Skills – for tasks such as planning the production schedule; efficiently managing the direct labor employees and making sure all necessary materials and equipment are available to the production team when needed.
•    Problem Solving Abilities – needs to be able to quickly assess production issues and establish the best course of action.
•    Analytical Skills – must be able to spot problems within the manufacturing process quickly and take appropriate action to rectify. Also responsible for ensuring that the production team has access to all the necessary skills and equipment at the appropriate times.
•    Time Management – has to ensure that their production team is working in the most time-efficient way and with the least downtime possible, to maintain production output while still maintaining staff safety and product quality.
•    Decision-Making Abilities – must be able to make decisions quickly, under pressure, after careful assessment of all available information.
•    Communication Skills – has to be able to clearly and concisely deliver instructions to the production team. Must also be able to deal with team-management issues quickly and effectively.
Responsibility of Manufacturing Operations Supervisors at DRS: 
•    Maintains workflow, staffing and scheduling to achieve targeted operational and financial results.
•    Establish an optimal work schedule for his group in relation to the operational needs of the factory.
•    Strategically align master production schedule to level load factory capacity and streamline supply chain to support contract schedules
•    Ensure adequate WIP is available at each manufacturing cell to hit throughput rates
•    Executes to establish manufacturing standards / HPU
•    Accountable to the IPT to understand and explain variance to HPU targets 
•    Create and Maintain and Manpower Utilization plan required to hit delivery requirements while maintaining HPU targets
•    Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
•    Effectively manage resource requirements in line with capacity models and demand rates to support the business requirements. 
•    Analysis based on the master schedule while using factory modeling and scenario planning
•    Assign daily tasks to touch labor,  conduct stand up tier meetings, set priorities and review reports/metrics to locate problem areas and create solutions.
•    Manage and maintain MOs and WIP on the Production Floor. 
•    Provides order delivery status to the IPT at TIER II and TIER III
•    Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
•    Hire and train new employees
•    Assure a working environment that is compliant with Environmental Safety and Health requirements 
 

Job Responsibilities Part II Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.  Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficient technical expertise with demonstrated application
  • Experience with Industrial Engineering concepts and 5S/6S techniques
  • Knowledge and familiarity with standards (ISO, AS, etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
