Therapist Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program Medical City Green Oaks Hospital Plano Clinic PRN (As Needed)
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides group and family therapy, psycho-education, and discharge planning to patients receiving Chemical Dependency IOP program treatment.
JOB FUNCTIONS: • Applies appropriate theory that is scientifically sound as a basis for decisions regarding clinical practice • Collects and documents clinical data that is comprehensive, accurate and systematic • Develops a treatment plan and update with specific goals delineating clinical intervention unique to the patient • Facilitate process and educational groups for IOP patients and their family members • Completes Clinical intakes/assessments (to include taking basic vital signs like blood pressure and temperature) on potential clients for the program, and assures completion of the psychosocial assessment for inclusion in the medical record • Reviews assessments completed by Connections Department (if applicable) • Communicates with patient, family, treatment team, physician and payors • Manages the utilization of services through concurrent reviews with payors and/or through internal reviews and coordinates discharge planning activities • Networks with peers and other mental health providers to develop the IOP Program • Uses a knowledge of diagnostic characteristics, symptomology of primary chemical dependency and mental illness to provide services and determine level of care that is appropriate based on diagnosis in a person-centered, supportive, outpatient environment • Responsible for monitoring services, providing Community Referrals and therapeutic services through Individual and family therapy to clients • Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct • Conduct reflect the Company's values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures • Performs other duties as requested or required
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: -Requires Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field OR Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor licensure. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license is preferred. -Must have current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification or attainment within the orientation period. -Prefer two years experience in individual, group and/or family therapy. Prefer appropriate experience with population that program serves.
FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY: Essential function of the job includes: Extended walking and standing daily, infrequently carrying up to 10 lbs., ability to grasp, requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, full range of motion to include restraining patients to protect them from harm to themselves or others: some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids, hand-eye coordination, manual and finger dexterity.
