Description

The Philanthropy team has an opportunity to join us as a Development Officer at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday – Friday with standard business hours.
The Development Officer plans, organizes, and coordinates various development activities, functions, and events. Coordinates the day-to-day administration activities including data management, gift processing, and acknowledgements. Will be supported in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of annual gifts and low-level major gift prospects.

Primary Duties
Manages a portfolio of annual donors
Develops and implements thoughtful, strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for prospective donors
Anticipates the needs of the Board members, leadership, physicians, and volunteers and creates support for donor cultivation and solicitation meetings.
Manages and supports annual giving at an entity level.
Attends philanthropy events to cultivate donors and plays an active role in cultivation at these events which are mostly held during the evening and weekend hours.
Collaboratively plans and facilitates events and meetings, contributing creative input.
Develops and manages timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner.
Develops expertise in strategically aligned priorities of the healthcare system. Assists physicians, program directors and administration with capital and programmatic funding needs.
Manages and supports internal and external key stakeholder relationships.
Ensures accurate and timely disposition of gifts/donations to the finance department, as appropriate.
Manages gift acknowledgment process as requested by preparing customized and standard letters based on gift donor information; proofs and mails these letters to donors, as appropriate.
Maintains accurate and timely input of biographical, gift in fundraising software. Ensures integrity and confidentiality of information.
Meets annual activity and financial performance metrics.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, Required.
Minimum 1-2 years Administrative or donor support experience, preferably in a fundraising, public relations, marketing, or related area, Required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Proficiency with various computer software applications
