Senior Manager, Brand Marketing The position is located in Newton, MA. SUMMARY: The Brand Marketing Senior Manager will be a key member of the Brand Marketing Team in the strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, execution and creative development of its various initiatives and campaigns to that support our Retail & Off Premise businesses along with other marketing initiatives as they emerge. A strong team leader with detailed planning, project management and creative development experience across multiple marketing disciplines is essential.  Significant cross-functional communication and coordination is involved, requiring strong communication skills and follow-up integrity. This position is responsible for the following marketing programs:  Delivery & Culinary Testing The successful candidate has a strong marketing background, 8+ years of marketing campaign development experience and demonstrated strong verbal/written communication skills.  The ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced environment is required – while enjoying a team environment and always emerging challenges.  Experience leading a team of direct reports and leading project teams is necessary.  RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, plan and execute fully brand marketing campaigns that support Panera's Delivery Business (both internal and third party partners). 

  • Build strong relationships with internal business partners to clearly understand business goals, innovation roadmap and sales trends.  Work closely with delivery teams as marketing thought partner and key marketing executional partner.
  • Creative brief development, utilizing consumer insights and off premise/delivery business priorities to develop messaging
  • Partnership with Brand & Media teams to engage internal or external agency resources in creative development and media planning
  • Lead cross functional campaign planning across all aspects of marketing teams – ensuring all teams develop on-brand, on-message channel assets that support overarching campaign strategy
  • Provide strategic and creative feedback on all creative components
  • Internal communication and coordination of all campaigns to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Manage promotional discount budget and advise on best use of promotional funds.
Lead the planning and execution of all Culinary Testing projects/campaigns to support new product introductions
  • Lead Test Product Marketing Strategy - collaborate with the Concept, Cafe Strategy and Category Management teams to create appropriate marketing strategies for culinary tests – from in café POP to TV/Radio and Social Media campaigns (varies by test objective). 
  • Assign brand, project management and creative resources for prototype, versioning, category management and other tests to ensure appropriate test support. 
  • Act as Brand Marketing lead in cross functional NPD meetings and workgroups to assure alignment across the enterprise
  • Onboard creative resources as necessary, i.e. freelancers, creative agencies and temps.
  • Provide strategic and creative feedback on all creative components
  • Internal communication and coordination of all campaigns to ensure alignment across the organization
  • Manage test budget
Lead other brand marketing campaigns as assigned.  Provide planning and creative tracking to projects as assigned. Manage a team of 3 (Two brand marketing managers & one coordinator) REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or equivalent Minimum of 8 years of marketing experience; fast casual restaurant or retail marketing experience a plus Experience in marketing campaign development, including brief development, project management, creative direction & feedback, media support and internal alignment. Experienced people manager Proactive, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, reliable and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and manage/reprioritize multiple projects Strong verbal/written communication skills; comfortable working within Microsoft platforms Excellent team player who can work across multiple teams, lead working teams and work in a collaborative manner Good-natured, positive, energetic yet professional attitude, a must!
