Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Retirement Benefits to oversee the administration, compliance, and communication of our Defined Contribution (DC) and Defined Benefit (DB) retirement plans. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our retirement programs across a large, decentralized workforce. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver outstanding participant experience. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Benefits, you will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance and enhancing employee engagement.

Qualified candidates for this role will have at least 3 years of progressive experience in benefits working with retirement programs, coordinating with benefits vendors, and a bachelor's or higher degree. Prior experience leading others is strongly preferred.

While we prefer this role to be based at our corporate office in Reading, PA, alongside our Total Rewards leadership team. However, we are open to considering highly qualified candidates from other locations.

Key Responsibilities

Plan Administration: Assist in managing DC and DB retirement plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.

Vendor Coordination: Work with external service providers, including recordkeepers, actuaries, and consultants, to ensure accurate plan processing and participant record maintenance.

Compliance Support: Facilitate plan audits and compliance reviews, preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

Employee Engagement: Develop and execute participant communications and education programs to enhance retirement readiness and plan participation.

Performance Monitoring: Track plan performance metrics and assist in reporting to senior leadership and benefits committees.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and support related projects.

Guidance and Support: Provide day-to-day assistance and troubleshooting for employees and internal stakeholders regarding retirement plan inquiries.

Documentation Management: Maintain accurate plan documentation, policies, and procedures.

Team Development: Mentor and develop a team of benefits professionals supporting retirement plans.

Other Projects: As assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.

• 3-5 years of experience working with retirement plans (DC and/or DB) administration or benefits management.

• Previous experience leading others, optimally a team of direct reports, is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of retirement plan regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

• Experience working with external vendors and service providers.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a decentralized environment.

• Proficiency with benefits technology platforms and reporting tools is preferred.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
