The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care.
Assists in ordering supplies and other assigned duties. Is responsible for the smooth operation of all secretarial functions. Directs communication with the nursing unit. Utilizes the computer system to enter patient information and to place required orders and patient requests.
- High school graduate preferred. Graduation from a formal Patient Care Assistant program, either at a vocational school or hospital.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistance license with the State of Florida.
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of one year of Patient Care Assistant experience required.
