Description

The ProHealth Care athletic training program works with active patients to prevent and treat injury and illness, as well as to enhance performance associated with activity. Athletic trainers are health care providers who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. They work with other health care providers and coaches to help athletes and patients of all levels and ages with injury from practice or competitive play and daily activity. Patients who may benefit from the service of our athletic trainers include:
• Competitive and recreational athletes
• Individuals who have suffered musculoskeletal injuries
• Patients seeking strength, conditioning, fitness, performance enhancement and overall wellness

Hours: Varied Hours - Day/Nights/Weekends.

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time Benefits

What You Will Do:

Evaluate and advise individuals to assist recovery from or avoid athletic-related injuries or illnesses, or maintain peak physical fitness. May provide first aid or emergency care.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Under the supervision of the Carroll University Head Athletic Trainer, this position works autonomously with intercollegiate athletic teams providing practice and competition coverage with limited travel.
•    Delivery of athletics health care services that keeps the student athlete at the center of care.
•    Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries/conditions of student-athletes.
•    Assist with the administration of inventory and maintenance of equipment.
•    Comply with all rules and regulations of Carroll University, NCAA, and CCIW.
•    Maintain appropriate medical records for student-athletes' health care.
•    Supervision of daily operations of the athletic training rooms.
•    Preceptor of students in an accredited athletic training curriculum.
•    Referral of injuries to team physicians when necessary.
•    Carry out prescribed treatment plans and rehabilitation protocols as directed by team physicians and/or other medical specialists.
•    Supervision of work study students placed by the university.
•    Perform other duties as assigned

 

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) within 90 days of hire.
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of WI within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS (CPR) Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • AED certification within 90 days of hire.
