SPA's Undersea Technology Analysis Portfolio (UTAP), within the Sea, Land, & Air Analysis Group in SPA, conducts rigorous and objective analyses to enable the Navy and other DoD organizations to make decisions, plans, and strategies to deliver emerging undersea technologies and warfighting capabilities. SPA has a near term need for a Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support modeling, simulation, engineering, analysis, and tactics development for clients at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division. Responsibilities The candidate will be responsible for conducting analysis to support NSWC PCD's equities across mine warfare, expeditionary warfare, naval special warfare, surface warfare, undersea warfare, and others. Tasking is expected to include: Doctrinal research, development, and analysis Qualitiative and quantitative analysis of strategic, operational, and management problems using operations research/systems analysis tools and techniques (including modeling and simulation, statistics, and mathematical programming) Studies of concepts, designs, and new technologies Development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and Concepts of Employment (CONEMPS); tactics, techniques, and procedures; requirements; cost analysis; and mission effectiveness analyses Qualifications Required Qualifications: 10 years of civilian or military professional experience providing simulation-based engineering support to complex engineering projects with demonstrated experience in use of computer simulation technologies (including probabilistic, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop simulations) to test the performance, durability, safety and functionality of engineering solutions in a virtual environment. Demonstrated knowledge and use of contemporary computer programming languages, such as C++ and Fortran, to model simulated environments in a range of different scenarios with multiple changing variables. Experience developing virtual data visualization products (including virtual and augmented reality applications) to represent real time simulation results. Possesses and is able to maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Bachelors degree in a relevant field. Desired Qualifications: Experience with simulation development using the "Unity" game engine is highly desirable. Possesses and is able to maintain a DoD TOP SECRET security clearance. Graduate degree in a relevant field.
