Description

The Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for providing leadership within the department by aiding in the administration of department objectives and measures. This position requires experience in handling challenging subject matter along with ensuring department completion of all necessary work on time and with the highest degree of quality. This position is required to learn and understand the high level aspects of the department functions so that he/she may appropriately provide leadership and guidance to associates while monitoring workloads and providing insight on staffing needs.



What We're Looking For

  • Assist in providing leadership to the department.
  • Assist in the oversight of workloads and staffing needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of department policies and procedures.
  • Aid in the creation and administration of department supervisory procedures to ensure appropriate controls are in place for their area of responsibility.
  • Maintain an understanding of the work being completed by associates and the status of various projects.
  • Streamline processes and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Function as a mentor for others within the department.
  • Collaborate with leadership on decision making within the department.
  • Assist with the competency development of associates.


What You'll Bring

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide clear instructions when explaining complex scenarios to associates.
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills to effectively handle multiple demands while meeting deadlines.
  • Working knowledge in interpreting and applying financial industry rules and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in functionality, technology, or regulatory policies when necessary.
  • Sound decision making skills.
  • Effective delegation skills to ensure completion of work.
  • Ability to think strategically in order to provide departmental improvements.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Required: 7+ years' experience in financial services industry


Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: FINRA Series 99 or Series 7, or ability to obtain Series 99 within 12 months upon hire. 


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access (or SQL)
