Position Summary:
The Civil Engineering Intern supports the design and permitting of land development and site design projects. Under the supervision of senior engineers, this role assists with preparing plans, calculations, reports, and cost estimates, applying standard engineering practices to real-world project challenges.

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
⦁    Assist in the design and permitting of land development and site design projects.
⦁    Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses.
⦁    Prepare engineering reports and supporting documentation.
⦁    Assist in developing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
⦁    Ensure adherence to standard engineering practices and project documentation requirements.
⦁    Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
⦁    Plan, coordinate, and execute work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
⦁    Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
⦁    Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
⦁    Familiarity with relevant engineering codes and industry standards.
⦁    Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).

Preferred Qualifications:
⦁    Familiarity with MicroStation.
⦁    Coursework or experience in land development, grading, and drainage design.
⦁    Previous internship or co-op experience in civil or site design engineering.
    
Physical Requirements:
⦁    Ability to perform occasional fieldwork, including walking on uneven terrain and exposure to outdoor conditions.
⦁    Ability to sit, stand, and perform light physical activity, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
⦁    Ability to operate computers, read drawings, and observe site conditions with required visual acuity.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
⦁    Combination of office-based work and occasional field visits to project sites or construction areas.
⦁    Potential exposure to varying weather, noise, dust, or uneven terrain during fieldwork.
⦁    Standard business hours with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.

⦁    Compensation Range: $23 – $26 per hour, depending on experience
