Position Overview: The Housing Navigator's responsibility is to assist households in receipt of an EHV through the process of locating, leasing, and moving into housing within 120 days of voucher issuance. This is a predominantly field based position and will require travel within the five boroughs and possibly adjacent communities in NYS and NJ if a household is interested in relocating out of the area. The HN is an integrated member of the RHY Crisis/TIL team which strives to ensure improved outcomes for youth.

Position Qualifications:

  • BA/BSW degree from an accredited college
  • Must have at least three years' experience working with homeless youth or other disadvantaged youth.
  • Experience working with landlords, brokers and rental market in NYC
  • Experience in case management
  • Proficiency with computers navigating in multiple systems and web-based applications
  • Minimum two years working with housing vouchers.
  • Familiarity with DYCD programming.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must understand the critical nature of timely and accurate documentation of service delivery and case work practice.
  • Must be available for travel within five boroughs.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to work two evenings and one day on the weekend
  • Bilingual applicants preferred

Starting Salary: $39,000
