KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

70% Job Duties (Performs Role of):

*Augmentation (25%) - The APRN will extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians. 

 

*Consummate Professional (25%) - The APRN will be expected to provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s). 

 

*Collaborator (10%) - The APRN will work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. 

 

*Coordination (10%) - The APRN will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.  Other duties may be assigned to this position.

Customer Service:  Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines. Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.5%   The APRN will extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.   



Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years nursing experience
  • APRN License (Acute Care Certification required)
  • Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines). 

    Must have normal communication sensory requirement.

    Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated. 

  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.
  • Licensed as a PA

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous nursing experience in a surgical setting.
