Summary of Job Duties: The Program Coordinator for the Center for Nursing Excellence reports to the Director of Magnet and Nursing Research and manages the assessment, development, implementation, and coordination of all UAMS nursing clinical ladder advancement programs. Coordinates and assists with professional workshops and resources for role development. Manages the nursing recognition nomination programs while maintaining all logistics and corresponding communication to stakeholders. Manges the Professional Development Fund and oversees applications for use, processing travel and conference registrations. Oversees centralized shared governance councils and coordinates with presenters to prepare presentations, record minutes and oversee roster. Provides an extremely high level of customer service to stakeholders. Serves as point of contact for Center for Nursing Excellence.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of administrative or program coordination experience OR

  • Associate's plus four (4) years of administrative or program coordination experience OR

  • High school diploma/GEDS plus six (6) years of administrative or program coordination experience 

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively enact change and successfully implement changes.

  • Must have superior skills in web-design software and applications, e.g., WordPress, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.

  • Superior technological/computer skills and capabilities with a variety of software programs including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Publisher, Survey Monkey, etc., and Adobe products, including Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

  • Must have outstanding project management skills to manage, support, and deliver projects within established budget and on time.

  • Must be a self-starter and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements

  • Positions require the ability to walk across campus, carry up to 10lbs, speak, see, hear, and sit at a desk for long periods.


Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the RN IV/V program.  

  • Assists nurses with the application for RN IV/V, and professionally communicates with applicants and leadership.

  • Manages RN portfolio reviews and all related communication. Maintains all related email distributions and databases. 

  • Receives staff award nominations, manages the voting process, award presentations, and dissemination of the award along with the news of the award.

  • Edits all photographs and winner information for publication. 

  • Develops, edits, and maintains web content for the Center for Nursing Excellence intranet site and the Professional Nursing Awards on the Nursing Recruitment Internet. 

  • Manage/coordinate the logistics/workflow of the Inpatient council structure.

  • Serves as backup for all of the nursing council structure.

  • Coordinate the logistics and assist the APRN Council.  Update database as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.
