It is the goal of the Resource Pool department to assist with staffing needs throughout the hospital by providing supplemental Registered Nurses, Nurse Techs, Nurse Aides or Certified Nursing Assistants as requested by the nursing units. The Resource Pool department assists with staffing licensed and non-licensed staff for Critical Care and Med-Surg departments
Patient populations differ based on area staffed and the clinical clusters include:
-Med-Surg RN: 3E, 3W, GT/SCU, 4E, 4W, Cardiac ICCU, 5W, Med-Surg ICCU, SWCC, OPS, and Endoscopy
-Critical Care RN: MICU, TSICU, BICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, COPS, Endoscopy, SWCC, EC and PACU.
-Non-licensed staff: are assigned to nursing units throughout the hospital according to established clinical competency and identified needs.
Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart .
-BSN preferred or must obtain within 3 years of hire
-2 years recent Med-Surg experience for Med-Surg Cluster
