Perioperative Float RN
A Perioperative Float Registered Nurse (RN) renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patient's physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The Perioperative Float RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. The Perioperative Float RN functions under the oversight and direction of the perioperative services leadership team.
Assignment responsibilities with full patient assignment will be specific to the Operating Room as a circulating RN, the Recovery Room, and other perioperative departments as needed. During times when there are no patient care responsibilities within perioperative services, the Perioperative Float RN will be assigned, by the Nursing Supervisor, to other duties within the hospital with an understanding that the Perioperative Float RN will immediately return to perioperative services for any patient care needs. Other duties include, but are not limited to, patient transport, lab specimen transport, or performing nursing tasks (without taking a patient assignment) for inpatient departments, the radiology department, or the emergency room.
- Registered Nurse – State of Alaska and a graduate of an approved or accredited school of nursing required.
- BLS & ACLS Required
- One year of clinical nursing experience in the Operating Room and/or Recovery Room required.
