The Product Line Operations Test Manager for the Navigation and Sensor Solutions (NSS) product line, will be responsible for leading the production Test Operations team for the next generation of advanced military navigation systems based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. This position will be responsible for the tactical execution of the production test environment. This position will report to the Strategic Operations Manager in the NSS business area operations. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading 60+ employees including: process and test processes, support the incorporation of new test solutions within new product introduction, and work closely with touch labor operating under a collective bargaining agreement
  • Establish performance objectives and lead performance and productivity.
  • Overseas test production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), scheduling and personnel.
  • Anticipates bottlenecks, clarifies priorities, identifies risks, and escalates issues that cannot be internally resolved.
  • Sets the sequencing of work, such as test and delivery, to optimize productivity.
  • Clearly defines all workflows, communicates documented processes, and ensures all practices are being refined and tuned with learnings.
  • Create and drive the vision for the department across a three shift operation.
  • Develops and implement plans to improve productivity, reduce scrap and rework costs - while driving to zero defects and 100% on time delivery.
  • Implements lean and continuous improvement activities

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's (STEM) or Business Management degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate technical/complex concepts in understandable, business terms to non-technical stakeholders
  • Project planning and management

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's (STEM) or Business Management degree and 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with quality methodologies.
  • Experience in non-functional testing.
  • Experience in application and infrastructure integration.
  • Experience in test automation.
  • Impact analysis and estimation experience.
  • Test planning: inter-group coordination, risk-based test planning.
  • Testing skills including functional testing, regression testing, etc.
  • Problem Management / Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Defect analysis and management.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a secret security clearance
