Position: Assembly Operator II
Pay Rate: $19.50/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 4:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Summary

The Assembly Operator II is responsible for safely operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-speed, large-scale automated assembly equipment. This role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, the ability to perform complex adjustments and changeovers, and a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate assigned automated assembly machines in a high-volume production setting.

  • Perform complex repairs, machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers to maintain optimal performance.

  • Conduct in-process quality checks according to the Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) and document measurements per engineering prints at required intervals.

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive and routine machine maintenance.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and reset machine faults; clear jams and restart production efficiently.

  • Package finished products according to established procedures and quality standards.

  • Follow all safety, quality, and production guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Technical & Mechanical Duties
  • Adjust tooling, including sharpening and conditioning components.

  • Inspect and adjust spring-loaded pins, keying features, bend stations, and insertion stations.

  • Replace machine components such as sensors, punches, dies, stock components, air cylinders, and belts.

  • Adjust housing feeds according to established standards.

  • Use precision measuring and inspection tools, including height indicators, gauges, ram optics, and microscopic visual inspection equipment.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 1+ year of relevant manufacturing or assembly experience, or equivalent vocational/technical training.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with automated or semi-automated equipment.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, inspection plans, and engineering prints.

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and basic troubleshooting techniques.

  • Ability to recognize when deviations from standard procedures are necessary and escalate appropriately.

  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills.

Job Scope & Complexity
  • Duties are varied and semi-routine, requiring independent judgment within established procedures.

  • Role may require adapting processes to address equipment or production issues while maintaining quality and safety standards.
