Title: City Specialist – Operations Clerk
Location: Montreal, QC (hybrid role: office/work from home and in-field within the greater Montreal area)
Classification: W2 Under Staffing Supplier
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm; occasional weekends for special events
Compensation: $26,97/hour

A local operations team is seeking a City Specialist to support and enhance relationships with partner merchants throughout the Montreal area. This hybrid role combines office and field work, engaging directly with local businesses to address needs, provide operational support, and drive community outreach. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-oriented, and comfortable navigating both structured and ambiguous environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct merchant outreach via phone, email, and in-person visits to understand needs and deliver operational support.
  • Support merchant partners by investigating and resolving pressing concerns and providing hands-on assistance.
  • Complete desk-based projects, such as sourcing information and photos online.
  • Participate in in-person promotions and special events to enhance customer and merchant engagement.
  • Log and track interactions and outcomes using digital tools.
  • Work closely with supervisors and the wider operations team to implement solutions and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience in sales, support, or operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and French are necessary.
  • Proven ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Comfortable traveling within greater Montreal and occasionally outside the area as needed; access to a vehicle is necessary.
  • Basic proficiency with Mac laptops, Google Suite, and Zoom.
  • Track record in sales, field support, or customer-facing roles is highly desirable.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.
  • Flexible and willing to occasionally work weekends for special events.
Preferred (Bonus) Skills
  • Additional language skills beyond English and French.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, or knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with Montreal and the surrounding community.
