SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

The Telemetry Technician:

  • Routinely reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances.
  • Recognizes monitoring problems, identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiates the Rapid Response Team, The Code Blue Team, as necessary.
  • Provides continuous ECG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythm and dysrhythmias and interval measurements.
  • Appropriately responds to all monitor alarms.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: One year of Telemetry Tech experience is preferred. Knowledge of telemetry. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations. Ability to work independently, attentive to detail maintain a positive work attitude. Must be able to manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial and legal information. Must be able to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.

Licenses/Certificates: Current American Heart Association BLS or within first week of hire. Crisis Prevention Intervention certified at time of hire or within 90 days of hire.
