Leads coordination, development, production and delivery of analytics and insights to employer group clients and their representatives. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Partnering with with Sales, Account Management, clients and their representatives to identify, understand and operationalize business needs and objectives. Developing information packages that communicate the value of products and services purchased, drive strategic decision making, and convey actionable opportunities. Leading analysts to synthesize and display for maximum impact and effectiveness, identifying actionable improvement opportunities, conveying results to key stakeholders, and recommending appropriate interventions and initiatives for realizing identified opportunities. Providing expertise regarding data availability, business intelligence (BI) tool capabilities, and appropriate use of data elements and analytic results. Evaluating and triaging requested analyses, reports and projects in terms of value of expected results, cost benefit analysis, urgency of need and strategic relevance. Managing projects through coordination and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders. Organizing and managing staffing and work flows. Training, guiding and coaching direct reports and other analytic staff.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify analytic and reporting needs, assess the feasibility and appropriateness of various approaches, and create solutions that drive stakeholder value
Leads staff to create analyses and reports for distribution to clients and their representatives. Oversees work performed by analysts to ensure insights and drivers are accurately identified, information is clearly and concisely communicated. Ensures all analytic work products are reliable, valid and actionable.
Serves as a subject matter expert regarding data availability, appropriate use of data elements, inferences from insights, and business intelligence (BI) tools and capabilities. Triages and evaluates analytic questions, needs and requests and prioritizes work for completion based on expected value delivered to customers and the company.
Builds relationships with internal and external customers. Communicates progress and results through written and verbal communication and presentations to leadership
Education and Experience:
Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, public health, healthcare administration, nursing or a related quantitative field required;
Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience, including a minimum of three (3) leading an analytics team; Experience must also include demonstrated success analyzing claims data, engaging with Sales, employer group clients and their representatives, and developing and deploying client-directed analytic solutions
Experience in a managed care health plan environment preferred
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Solid understanding of and significant experience with successfully leading the completion of the end-to-end HEDIS cycle (e.g., abstraction, data submission, audit, etc.)
Extensive knowledge of population health, utilization, cost and quality data sources, trends, and interventions
Proven success with driving and supporting cross-functional projects in a highly matrixed organization
Intermediate knowledge of and experience with analytic programming languages and data visualization tools, including SAS, SQL, Cognos, and Tableau
Significant knowledge of benefit and product designs, medical management programs, and provider engagement and contracting approaches
Demonstrated success with designing reports and conducting analyses to identify actionable improvement opportunities and conveying analytic results to internal and external stakeholders
Successful oversight of analytic staff and work products, including ensuring reliability and validity of results
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks across cross-functional teams and external entities
Demonstrated competency in resource and project management, including budgeting, organizing work, providing leadership to staff, establishing measures for success, and managing to deliverables
