Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of logistics professionals. We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to provide leadership to a group of hourly associates (selectors, auditors, replenishers, etc.) at our Linden, NJ warehouse. The schedule will be Sunday-Thursday from 6pm until loads complete. This grocery warehouse does case picking in dry, fridge, and freezer environments. The chosen candidate will have grocery/food experience in a case-picking distribution center, and will have hands-on experience with a warehouse management system.  Daily responsibilities are to provide operational leadership to hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities in a manner consistent with customer expectations.  Supervises processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling.

Major Responsibilities: 


-Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance.

-Ensure compliance with documented policies and procedures.


- Assign work and communicate performance expectations that are specific and measurable.

- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed.


- Supervise logistics operations including receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, loading, and inventory control.

-Evaluate and look for way to improve preferred work methods to increase productivity of warehouse operations.

-Assist in new associate training.

-Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Other projects and tasks as assigned

 -2 years warehouse supervision experience required

-High School Diploma or equivalent required

-Bachelor's Degree preferred

-­Strong communication skills required

­-Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel preferred

­-Will be able to demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency

­-Will be able to connect and build relationships with associates

­-Will be able to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills

­-Will be able to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently

-Experience with a warehouse management system is essential;  inventory management system preferred

-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

-Will complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
