Job Description: The position requires the EEG tech to schedule and perform technically satisfactory EEG's utilizing a multi-channel EEG machine. To obtain pertinent information from patient chart and patient. They must note additional test results and any other clinical information necessary for diagnosis. They must list medications, routinely use International 10-20 system of measurement, perform adult and child, portable and standard recordings, use physiologic activation such as hyperventilation and photic stimulation. This position requires the ability to recognize abnormal EEG and convey this to the neurologist.

Qualifications

  • Skilled position requiring over 1 year to obtain the required knowledge and skills. This knowledge would be attained through an accredited schooling and on-the-job training.
  • Minimum of 6 months acute-care hospital setting experience required.
  • Successful completion and current AHA CPR Certification in basic life support (BLS).
