Human Resources Manager - Savannah Distribution
Position Overview: Responsible for the consistent administration and enforcement of company policy within the operation; acts as a liaison between operation employees, administrative staff & management; ensure fair treatment and equal opportunity for all employees; manages HR staff with responsibility for employee safety, facility staffing, and maintaining high employee morale. All other related duties as directed by the Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities: - Oversee the Human Resources Department and ensure the proper application and implementation of the policies and procedures of Shaw Industries Group, Inc. - Develops and maintains a network with outside agencies such as EEOC, DOL, and other state and federal organizations. - Coordinates communication with Shaw personnel and community leaders. - Manages internal employee communications. - Help to resolve employee complaints/issues in a timely manner. - Ensure all employees are being treated fairly and consistently. - Manage Workers' Compensation cases and act as a liaison between injured employees, insurance carriers, and/or Corporate Workers' Compensation Department. - Coordinate the hiring of employees, assist in the recruiting efforts as well as the selection of new employees, and ensure all federal and state laws regarding hiring are followed. - Provide Corporate Human Resources and other corporate departments with reports and/or information as requested, with timeliness and accuracy being the objective. - Responsible for maintaining plant staffing to meet the needs of the manufacturing and distribution operations. - Measure Turnover Rate, Absenteeism, and other job-related metrics. Disseminate these metrics to other areas. - Responsible for conformance to Company, State, and Federal Employment Regulations, providing fair and equal opportunity to all employees, and equal administration of company policy for all employees. - Effectively communicates and coordinates with division H.R. and other H.R. Managers. - Assist in all job realignments and plant restructures as business dictates. - Responsible for the Training Activities throughout the facility and on all shifts, as it relates to new employee training, job procedures training, JHA training, SMS training, annual SMS retraining, and corporate training initiatives, such as Ethics Hotline, Diversity, etc. - Conduct investigations into misconduct, rules violations, Hotline calls, etc. Document investigation and findings. - Responsible for policy interpretation and application across all shifts. Guide Managers and Supervisors in the application and interpretation of corrective action, consistency in the application of policy, etc. - Coach and Develop Superintendents, Supervisors, Leads, and Hourly associates. - Employee communications: ensures that all required postings are maintained in the plant, as well as other information as needed or required. - Develop, and conduct classroom training as needed. - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources or Facility Manager.
- 4 year degree required
- Previous HR Generalist/Training experience required.
- Bilingual(English, Spanish) preferred
- Minimum 3 years HR/Training experience preferred
8 hour, day shift
