Job opportunity:

Environmental Services Lead/St. Marks Hospital

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager, the Environmental Services Lead prepares and implements daily assignment schedules for maintaining the hospital and Medical Office Building environments in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition. Responsible for the timely distribution and pickup of clean and soiled linen, biohazard material removal and container replacement, and trash removal from user areas. Inspects areas to observe housekeeping/linen staff outcomes and determines if quality standards are being met. Trains staff in all aspects of environmental and linen services, including the proper techniques of infection control. Functions in a staff capacity as required. Assists management in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, evaluation and auditing of department activities. Supports the maintenance of a positive working environment. Participates in performance improvement activities, identifying opportunities for improvement. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Courses or specialized training in health care environment services preferred.  Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.

Experience:

  • Over two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Special Qualification

Special Qualification:

  • Working knowledge of healthcare cleaning procedures, cleaning of equipment and proper use of cleaning products and supplies.
  • Understanding of upholstery cleaning and floor care: hard and carpet.
  • Must be able to work alone in restricted area performing work for extended periods of time.
