Tetra Tech has a tremendous opportunity for an entry level Transportation Engineer to work with a top-notch team of highway/traffic engineers and transportation planners.  We focus on advancing complex roadway/highway infrastructure projects and we are a recognized leader in the planning, permitting, and design of transportation projects throughout the Commonwealth. We are proud to be designing major projects within our region such as the I-90/Allston Interchange and the Rutherford Ave/Sullivan Square corridor in Boston.

Location: This position is based out of our Marlborough, MA office, located in the Marlborough Technology Park, which is easily accessible from major highways and full of amenities such as a cafeteria, game room and gym. We offer a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work from home and in the office.


Your Role:

  • Designing intersections and roadways, including profiles, cross sections, and grading
  • Preparing Complete Streets, pedestrian, and bicycle designs
  • Developing pavement marking, signing plans and highway guide signs
  • Preparing Temporary Traffic Control Plans
  • Conducting hydraulic and hydrologic analyses
  • Developing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Assisting with transportation studies, design reports, calculations, and analyses
  • Conducting traffic modeling and simulations
  • Performing field work and data collection in a variety of environments



  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Beginner to intermediate AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience
  • Experience with Synchro, HCS, Vissim, SignCAD, AutoTurn, StormCAD, HydroCAD, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with staff from different disciplines and backgrounds
  • Requires successful evaluation of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and maintaining a safe driving record
