Position Summary:
This opportunity is well-suited for a new Environmental Engineer and/or new Environmental Scientist. In this environmental role at Tetra Tech, you will deliver high-quality, timely solutions to our diverse client base in the commercial and industrial environmental compliance space. The selected individual will be directly involved in assisting our team with the execution of environmental compliance projects for our clients across a range of media and regulatory requirements. This individual will contribute to the execution of projects as part of a larger technical environmental compliance team and will be expected to perform project tasks in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. This individual will be able to grow into positions of increased responsibility and expand their knowledge in the environmental compliance realm through training and experience.
Essential Job Functions:
- Participate in Air, Water, Waste, Hazardous Materials, Sustainability, and Materials/Product compliance-related projects.
- Perform data collection utilizing onsite observation and/or remote methods.
- Utilize software, spreadsheets, databases, or other novel tools for data analysis and client solution development.
- Develop and deliver accurate and precise technical documents rooted in regulatory and client requirements.
- Develop and deliver presentations and/or training sessions on regulatory matters.
- Review and understand current and changing environmental regulations.
- Work alongside senior and technical staff to develop client solutions.
- Build and maintain mutual relationships with clients.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental or Chemical from a four-year College or University. Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences or related field from a four-year College or University.
- 0 to 2 years' experience within the environmental science / environmental compliance field; preference of direct experience within Commercial/Industrial or Consulting/Engineering sectors.
- Basic technical competency, and demonstrated skills in engineering/scientific judgment, mathematical-applications, general chemistry.
- Proficient with data management, organization and core competency in MS Office products (including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Strong technical writing and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with team members as well as independently.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet fast-paced demands and deadlines.
- Physically able to visit industrial, commercial and construction sites where extended time walking & standing may be required, as well as maintain an elevated level of awareness, with or without accommodation.
- The ability to travel up to 20% to customer sites and/or field visits.
- Valid, non-restrictive driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of environmental compliance and sustainability.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD software. - A master's degree in Environmental Science or Sustainability from an accredited college or university.
Work Environment/Environmental Factors:
Environmental factors may include, but are not limited to, extreme temperatures (e.g., cold, heat), fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise.
The pay range for this position is between $55,000 and $57,000 annually. However, the pay offered may vary depending on primary work location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal parity.
