Nurse Practitioner (RN) Acute Care (Internal Medicine)

Texas Orthopedic Hospital is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 18 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 12 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What will you do in the role?
The Nurse Practitioner practices in an advanced role under the direction and supervisor of the Internal Medicine Physician(s).  The Nurse practitioner will provide advanced care for the patients; including assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of treatment and procedures.  The Nurse practitioner will maintain appropriate clinical documentation integrity, CDI to facilitate an accurate representation of the patient's clinical status.  The Nurse practitioner works in conjunction with the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Inpatient Services, Nursing Staff, and medical staff to ensure the highest level of care for patients.  

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Minimum of two years of Acute Care Experience, Prefer at least two years experience in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
  • Current TX RN License, National Nurse Practitioner Certification, Registered to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas. 
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required. 
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification required. 
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support Course (PLS or PCLS) and Certification required.
    • Must be open to rotating call in this area.
