PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - PER DIEM
Central Desert Hospital
Hours: This position will work on an as-needed basis to cover sick, vacation, and emergency leave.
As a per diem, nonexempt Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.
About the Facility: Central Desert Behavioral Health Center is a new 64-bed inpatient center offering advanced programming and services for the treatment of behavioral health illness for older adults. The center provides professional care for individuals who are experiencing a wide range of emotional, social and behavioral needs affecting the healthy function of their daily lives. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS.
About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. After hours service is provided by CPS Remote Order Entry Services / TELEpharmacy. The centralized pharmacy uses MedDispense and Amigo systems.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
- Pharmacy Technician License in New Mexico
- Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
