Reporting to the Associate Director of Intake and Alternative Resolution and Deputy Title IX Officer in the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD), Intake and Outreach Coordinators are key members of OPHD's response team. The primary responsibilities of the role, outlined below, are focused on intake and outreach for matters involving sexual violence and sexual harassment (SVSH) and other protected-class harassment and discrimination under relevant University of California policies (e.g., the UC Policy on Sexual Harassment, the UC Policy on Discrimination and Affirmative Action in the Workplace, and similar nondiscrimination policies for students), as well as related state and federal laws (e.g., Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and CA FEHA), and complaints under the Whistleblower and Whistleblower Protection policies.
Intake and Outreach Coordinators receive and respond to reports involving students, faculty, staff, vendors, volunteers, visitors and other third parties. Intake and Outreach Coordinators have significant experience and familiarity connecting people with available resources on campus and in the community, as well as arranging appropriate supportive measures for complainants and respondents. Intake and Outreach Coordinators also facilitate educational sessions for the University community to promote rights, resources, and options for individuals impacted by protected-class harassment, discrimination, and whistleblower policy violations.

Responsibilities
Intake Coordination:
- Receives reports of SVSH, protected-class harassment and discrimination, and whistleblower complaints and send prompt, detailed, and trauma- informed outreach to impacted individuals and/or responsible employee reporters.
- Conducts highly sensitive meetings with impacted individuals about their rights, options, and resources.
Program Support:
- Assists Associate Director in determining and implementing appropriate and available response options and supportive measures, including referral to campus and community resources.
- Researches and analyzes issues, complaints and concerns at all levels of complexity.
- Responds to questions about policy and processes from the university community, including from Responsible Employees.
Reporting/Record Management:
- Timely creation, update, and closure of cases in the iSight and Ethicspoint systems, including collecting and recording all relevant documentation and notes in the electronic case file.
- Ensures that OPHD and Whistleblower reports are properly grouped and maintained in the appropriate database(s), including real-time case updates.
- Assists the Civil Rights & Whistleblower Project Analyst OPHD Program Manager in quality control of case data in the appropriate databases.
- Partners with Civil Rights & Whistleblower Project Analyst to produce periodic reports, draft and edit the OPHD annual report, and submit data to UCOP and state and federal agencies.
Education & Training:
- Facilitates and co-facilitates in-person and online SVSH prevention programs for residential staff, student orientations, and AB 1825 programs for staff and faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of and/or ability to learn University ethics and compliance policies, procedures and programs, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of state and federal compliance issues, including discrimination, harassment, hate/bias and sexual violence.
- Skills to read, understand, interpret, apply and communicate University and department policies and procedures.
- Experience researching and analyzing complex issues and problems, and developing and applying recommendations and solutions.
- Experience working in an environment of strict confidentiality with sensitive information, materials and/or client interactions. Skill to exercise professional judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters.
- Experience utilizing interpersonal and communication skills (in person, on the phone, and in writing) to handle difficult or sensitive situations diplomatically; and to interact professionally and sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
- Skills in coalescing viewpoints and facilitating outcomes in group settings.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and communications effectively with minimal direction.
- Ability to organize and present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
- Strong grasp of Microsoft Office tools, especially MS Excel and Word, and Google document tools.
- Advanced knowledge of civil rights policies.
- Demonstrated interest in nondiscrimination compliance and related issues.
- Presentation skills to conduct programs for a variety of audiences, including but not limited to staff and supervisors, faculty and students.
- Knowledge of socioeconomic and organizational issues underlying and resulting from sexual harassment, discrimination and sexual violence.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Title IX compliance training.
- Experience with case management systems.
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and training methodologies.
- Public relations skills to conduct outreach and represent OPHD to the campus community.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary range of the position is $82,400.00 to $116,000.00, commensurate with experience.
This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for full UC Benefits. Annual salary is commensurate with experience.
