Responsibilities include managing and coordinating the departmental human research participant pool using a web based application to sign up subjects and experimenters for both paid and non-paid experiments for approximately 4,000 human subjects. Includes administration of over 150 research protocols, training experimenters, responding to subjects questions and queries about experiments and developing departmental policies and procedures. Takes an active role, and works closely with Faculty Subject Pool Administrator in the use of the human research participation pool for departmental research. As Front Desk/Financial Assistant, responsibilities also include greeting the general public, students and faculty, and providing assistance, directions and appropriate referrals; ordering and stocking supplies for administrative staff; allocating and maintaining photocopy accounts; maintaining photocopy and FAX machines; coordinating mail distribution including payroll and miscellaneous checks; coordinating undergraduate letters of recommendation service. As Financial Assistant, responsibilities include preparing form five's and other financial documents as required include research subject reimbursements; coordination and preparation of various financial and accounting forms to reimburse department personnel; prepares other financial transactions including monitoring and processing monthly phone charges. Uses Gateway to process and approve PO's for all purchases; as liaison with department personnel with vendors, purchasing and accounting on purchasing issues, distribution of shipments, travel reimbursement processing, and online room reservation system. Provides assistance to MSO, Chair and other staff on special projects as needed.
Minimum RequirementsAbility to work in fast paced, multi-task environment with excellent verbal, writing and analytical skills. Must be able to follow guidelines, meet deadlines and interpret policy. Must be able to organize multiple projects and process work with frequent interruptions. Must possess excellent communication and customer services skills; ability to interact effectively with a variety of faculty, staff, students and researchers on multiple issues and provide assistance and guidance is required. Must possess computer skills such as Word, Excel, internet browsers and email
Desirable RequirementsKnowledge and understanding human subject research protocols is desirable as well as knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures regarding human subjects research. Knowledge of campus/departmental systems such as GATEWAY, STAR, GUS, SONA or others is desirable.
