Client Success Manager, Alex Youdim Shares His Career Story
What was your very first job?
My first job was mixing ink at a print shop. It was the summer before I turned 13, and my parents would not let me stay home without a plan. They knew the owner and set the job up for me. It paid $20 a week.
What was your most exciting or unique job?
I had a part-time summer job as a tour guide in Cancun for a company that sold high school graduation trip packages. The most unique job duty was picking up teenagers from Mexican jails.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be the owner of the Dallas Cowboys (I still want this).
What did you study in college?
I studied Philosophy and Religion.
Have you ever been laid off? What challenges did you face? Did it end up being a good thing?
Yes. It was during the Recession and it was impossible to get a job. I remember more than one interview where I was asked, “Why did you think you were laid off?” The experience taught me that I’m a survivor.
Any unique unemployment stories?
At one point, I was in discussions to buy a small ice cream manufacturer with the intent of making Super Food-enriched ice cream flavors, but it never panned out.
What would you do if you could retire today?
I would open a fish taco stand on the beach and write a cookbook with my grandmother.
What brought you to CareerArc?
I saw job tweets on Twitter and I thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw. The first time I saw a job tweet it was actually for a CareerArc client. After seeing a few client job tweets, I found the Client Success role advertisement and applied. When I met the team we had such a great rapport that I knew I wanted to be here.
How do you like working here?
I think it’s great, I really enjoy the work I do as a Client Success Manager and have amazing clients that I’ve built great relationships with. I also enjoy how closely I get to work with the product. I’m always really interested in learning what else we can do or build and where we plan to go from here. I also love the company culture. My colleagues are all very motivated people, which I enjoy.
