Not counting my current job! I was once an intern at Comedy Central and the Improv Comedy Club.
What was your most unique or least favorite job duty?
Most unique: watch standup comedy and read spec scripts, then give feedback to the writers.
Least favorite: spent several months in “training” (i.e. doing nothing) while waiting for my top secret security clearance to go through (it took 8 months).

Have you ever been laid off? What challenges did you face? Did it end up being a good thing?
Once, while I was a Sales Engineer. It was tough to accept having to make quick changes to my life and career path, but it ended up being a great thing since it prompted me to go back to school, where I learned about product management and made the connections to land a job in that field.
Any unique unemployment stories?
At one point I did a bunch of internship/contract/freelance jobs including: Production Assistant for a feature film and for a video game summit in Las Vegas, intern at Comedy Central and the Improv Comedy Club, product design for an iPhone app, and marketing for an electronics retailer, professional online community, audio book rental company, and healthcare web service.
What would you do if you could retire today?
Spend a lot of time with my kids and family, and also catch up on a million books, movies, TV shows, and video games.
